Lee Dixon is sure Arsenal summer signing will do well this season

Lee Dixon is excited about the start of the season as Arsenal prepare to defend their Premier League crown, with the Community Shield coming up in a few days.

After 22 years of waiting, the Gunners won another Premier League title and will now have to defend it against some of the best-equipped rivals around. Most of Arsenal’s rivals have significantly strengthened their squads during this window, but the Gunners have also been active in the market and have been in some of their best form in recent years.

Dixon Highlights Tzolis

One of the players Arsenal have signed is Christos Tzolis, who arrives as a replacement for Leandro Trossard, who has left the Gunners during this window. The men at the Emirates have been impressed by his performances during pre-season, and Dixon has singled him out as the Arsenal player he believes could perform particularly well this term.

Speaking about Tzolis, he said via the Metro:

‘But the player who stands out for me is Tzolis. I really like this kid. I think he’s that next level up from Trossard. Martinelli is a bit off-the-cuff, you don’t always know what you’re going to get.

‘So I think we should give Tzolis a bit of free rein and see how he goes in the first six or seven games.’

Tzolis Has Chance to Impress

Dixon’s comments highlight the confidence he has in Tzolis and suggest that the new signing could quickly become an important player for Arsenal. His performances during pre-season have already attracted attention, and the former player believes he should be given freedom to show what he can offer.

The comparison with Trossard also places significant expectations on Tzolis. Arsenal will need their new signing to adapt quickly as they prepare to defend their Premier League title and compete for other trophies.

Dixon believes the best approach could be to allow Tzolis to play with freedom during the opening games. Allowing him to settle into the team could help him demonstrate the qualities that convinced Arsenal to sign him.

With the new season approaching, Tzolis now has the opportunity to establish himself at Arsenal. If he can maintain the form he has shown during pre-season, Dixon’s prediction could prove justified as the Gunners begin their title defence.
