Arsenal transfer target Vinicius Jr has raised eyebrows with his activity on social media as talks around his future continues. Arsenal are keen to sign the Brazilian this summer as they prepare for the defence of their Premier League title.

Amid speculation about where he could be playing next season, Vinicius Jr has deleted his profile picture and all the pictures he had previously posted on his Instagram account, including those related to Real Madrid . The only thing left is the reels that have been posted, many of which appear to be part of partnerships.

The change has been spotted following a meeting between the player's representatives and Real Madrid over a new contract. After what appeared to be a stand-off, the Spanish giants seem to have softened their stance.

As reported by football.london , Real Madrid have now tabled an improved offer to the 26-year-old . Whether that proposal satisfies the demands of Vinicius Jr and his entourage remains to be seen.

The reasoning behind the social media clear-out is unclear, and could simply amount to a routine tidy-up of his online presence. But the move did not go unnoticed by fans on social media, with many having their own theories. "Vini jr instagram, he's deleted everything. Hmmmm interesting," one said.

A second added: "Vini Jr instagram page is completely cleared.... New start at Arsenal?

"Vini Jr has WIPPED [sic] Real Madrid from his IG completely. He's playing with his fans all this just to re-sign," a third said. "Vini Jr. deleting his Instagram photos... Could this mean an announcement of a contract renewal or a departure from Real Madrid?" Said a fourth.

It's a development Arsenal fans will be monitoring closely, with Mikel Arteta keen to bolster his attacking options as the Gunners gear up to defend their Premier League title. Arsenal kick off their league campaign in just over a fortnight when they welcome Coventry City to the Emirates Stadium.

When quizzed on the prospect of bringing Vinicius to North London this summer, Arteta said: "Well, we are really active, trying to improve and evolve the team. That's clear.

"We expect to have movements in the next few weeks, obviously, because we want to get better like anybody else. And you can just see it.
