Tottenham Hotspur's classic 70s home shirt falls under £6 in Premier League deal

Roberto De Zerbi's Spurs get their 2026/27 campaign underway in a matter of days and fans can get more than 85% off a classic retro shirt in time for kick-off

The Premier League is around the corner and Tottenham Hotspur fans have just days to wait until their first game of the 2026/27 season. But before the club get their new campaign underway on August 22, a new deal has dropped that lets fans get kitted up in the classic Tottenham Hotspur 1978/79 Home Shirt for less than £6.

At Sports Direct, this retro jersey has been reduced from £39.99 to £21, but shoppers can combine this with another deal to get it for £5.65. To do this, Spurs fans can sign up for a TopCashback account to receive a £15 welcome bonus when spending £15 or more.

It also pays cashback on Sports Direct orders, effectively reducing the Spurs shirt to £5.65 after cashback, saving £34.34 or roughly 86% from the original price. There are a couple of caveats to note though, including Sports Direct’s £4.99 standard delivery charge.

Also, only new TopCashback members can claim this deal, while existing members will pay £20.65 after cashback plus delivery. Both options still work out cheaper than the official Spurs store, where the same jersey costs £42.

The club says its 1978/79 strip captures the heritage of Spurs’ glory days, inspired by ‘the flair’ of Glenn Hoddle and Argentine duo Ossie Ardiles and Ricky Villa. It’s designed in crisp Spurs white with a polo-style spread collar and a navy trim on the neck, shoulders and cuffs.

It features the iconic embroidered cockerel crest and vintage Admiral logo from that era. The TopCashback deal comes as Spurs prepare for their first full season under new manager Roberto De Zerbi, who will take charge in their trip to Brentford on August 22.

Sky has confirmed it will broadcast the game live from a 5.30pm kick-off, as well as their home game against Newcastle United on August 29. Fans will need a Sky Sports TV package to tune in, which start at £20 per month.
