Richarlison takes to social media with clear message after Tottenham lose again

Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison posted two messages on social media just a few hours after the club were beaten in the Premier League. Spurs were on the receiving end of a 3-2 defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon, leaving the club still without a win going into the international break.

Richarlison posted two messages on Instagram on Saturday, with the first being a video of himself in training, accompanied by the caption, “The focus remains”.

The Brazilian’s second post was another video, this time doing some sprint training, which included the caption, "35.4km/h - I broke my record”.

The messages from Richarlison came just a few hours after Tottenham’s defeat in north London, with Spurs now picking up just two points from their opening five Premier League matches.

Unai Emery's men emerged 3-2 victors against Roberto De Zerbi's team, having established a three-goal cushion before Conor Gallagher sparked a late comeback in the 86th minute, while Jan Paul van Hecke netted a consolation strike during stoppage time.

De Zerbi has made his position crystal clear that Richarlison will not play for the club following his public desire to depart north London during the summer transfer window.

The striker did not feature in Tottenham's Carabao Cup loss to Liverpool and has not been included in their 25-man squad for the Premier League.

"Richarlison, you already know everything and nothing change for Carabao Cup or Premier League. The situation is the same," De Zerbi said.

Following a failed move to Vasco Da Gama after the transfer window closed, Richarlison took to social media to post a lengthy statement, voicing his wish to head back to his native Brazil.
