Real Madrid confirm £120MILLION deal for Yan Diomande: RB Leipzig star set to sign seven-year deal with Spanish giants with Jose Mourinho set to welcome his fifth arrival

Real Madrid have reached an agreement with RB Leipzig to sign one-time Liverpool target Yan Diomande on a seven-year contract.

Real are paying a guaranteed fee of £107million for the 19-year-old, with the total deal worth up to £120million.

Diomande has left Leipzig's pre-season training camp and has landed in the Spanish capital, ahead of completing a medical and his media duties.

Liverpool had an offer worth £85million rejected earlier in the window while Paris St Germain also tried to sign the Ivory Coast international.

Los Blancos had previously seen a bid worth £85.4million (€100million) rejected by Leipzig, with the German club holding out for a nine-figure sum.

PSG had previously been seen as a more likely destination for the Ivory Coast winger, with Diomande even claiming they are a team 'I've loved since I was little.'

But the back-to-back Champions League winners eventually pulled out of the race to sign the forward due to the sky-high fee slapped on him.

Diomande becomes the latest big name to arrive at the Bernabeu as Jose Mourinho continues his big summer rebuild at the start of his second tenure at the club.

Denzel Dumfries, Marc Cucurella, Ibrahima Konate and Bernardo Silva have all already joined Real during this window, while the club are also looking to tie down Vinicius Jnr to a new contract amid interest from Arsenal.

Diomande scored 13 goals and provided ten assists in 36 appearances last season.

He then went on to star in Ivory Coast's run to the round of 32 stage at the World Cup, displaying his dynamism on both wings.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are currently working to add PSG pair Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye.
