Myles Lewis-Skelly offered to Chelsea and Man United with Arsenal looking to sell after £75m Bruno Guimaraes capture

Arsenal midfielder Myles Lewis-Skelly has been offered to both Chelsea and Manchester United following the Gunners' capture of Bruno Guimaraes.

The 19-year-old signed a new deal last year following his breakout season, but after limited minutes in Arsenal's Premier League title-winning campaign, there is belief the champions may be willing to move the Hale End product on.

There has been fresh contact with both the Blues and United, among other Premier League clubs, who are assessing whether to make a move for the versatile player.

Lewis-Skelly's minutes at Arsenal could be further limited in the upcoming season, with Guimaraes completing a £75million move from Newcastle last week.

Chelsea are understood to have long held an interest in Lewis-Skelly, but it is unclear whether they will put down an offer.

The academy product only managed 19 starts in all competitions last season, with Arteta giving him a rebirth in the middle of the park toward the end of the campaign, which led to a start in the Champions League final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

But with the Brazilian now expected to leapfrog Lewis-Skelly in the midfield pecking order, and opportunities already limited at left-back, there is a feeling that a move could be on the cards.

Guimaraes has signed a four-year deal with the option of a further 12 months. He adds serious talent and depth to Arsenal's midfield, which already contains names such as Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi and Mikel Merino.

A move to Chelsea would also see Lewis-Skelly face competition for minutes, with the Blues boasting a contingent of Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez – who has been linked with a move away – Romeo Lavia, Dario Essugo, Valentin Barco and Jordan Henderson.

Chelsea previously targeted Granit Xhaka, the 33-year-old Sunderland captain who had worked with new boss Xabi Alonso at Bayer Leverkusen, but were unable to get him out of the Stadium of Light.

The Blues have already made a series of statements in the transfer market, with Maxence Lacroix joining from Crystal Palace. Morgan Rogers has also arrived for £117m from Aston Villa.

Teenager Lewis-Skelly has already made 75 senior appearances for Arsenal, securing a Premier League winner's medal last campaign.

He predominantly started his career at left-back, making a name for himself in Arsenal's Champions League quarter-final demolition of Real Madrid in 2025, but has since returned to his preferred position in central midfield.

The youngster has started every pre-season game for Arsenal, of which they have lost two, but is expected to be moved in place of Rice and Guimaraes once they return to action.
