Manchester United Have Set Their Sights On This Fulham Midfielder: What Will He Add To Carrick’s Team?

In a recent report, Fichajes revealed that Manchester United have set their sights on Fulham midfielder Sander Berge. It has been mentioned that the Red Devils have identified the Norwegian midfielder as a target for this transfer window.

Berge’s Impressive Form In English Football

Berge enjoyed a good run of form at the London club in the previous campaign when he put in a string of impressive displays for them in the middle of the park. The Norway international played in 35 league matches for Fulham last season but failed to score or create a goal for them.

The 28-year-old is currently among the most talented central midfielders in the Premier League. Thus, he would be a welcome addition to Man United’s squad this summer.

His current contract at Craven Cottage will expire in the summer of 2029, so the Red Devils would have to make a convincing offer if they want to recruit him later this year.

What Will Berge Add To Manchester United Boss Michael Carrick’s Team?

Berge loves a tackle and can time his challenges well to secure possession back for his side inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the offensive and is a good passer as well from midfield.

The Norway international can use his strong 1.95m frame to dominate the opposition in the air. Berge mainly serves as a defensive midfielder but can also operate as a box-to-box midfielder if asked to do so by his manager. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the Mancunian club.

Berge would bring more bite and steel to Man United boss Michael Carrick’s midfield department. He has what it takes to challenge for a regular first-team spot at Old Trafford in the coming seasons.

At 28, Berge has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for the Red Devils to pursue this off-season. He will also help Man United fight across all fronts over the next couple of years. All in all, Carrick should focus on getting Berge on board before the end of this month.
