Manchester City ‘found guilty on 114 charges’ as severe Premier League sanctions possible

The remainder comprise 54 for not providing accurate and up to date financial information, 14 for inaccurate reporting of player and coach remuneration, five for breaches of UEFA rules, including Financial Fair Play, and seven under the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules, along with a failure to disclose details of payments to Roberto Mancini and first-team players across five seasons.

Sanctions under the rulebook range from a reprimand to expulsion, with fines and points deductions in between. Three seasons ago Everton were docked 10 points for a single season breach. City’s case spans more than a decade.

Punishments could also include the removal of some or all domestic titles won during the period under scrutiny, 2009 to 2023. That window includes seven Premier Leagues, three FA Cups, six League Cups and three Community Shields. The 2023 Champions League, plus that year’s Super Cup and Club World Cup, would fall outside any sanction.
