Manchester United are running the rule over on Bournemouth star Alex Scott as they ponder a summer move.

Highly-rated Scott is catching admiring glances from a host of top clubs with United and Chelsea making transfer checks on the 22-year-old.

Scott was called into the England squad in November but didn't make Thomas Tuchel's last squad in March. However, he has since produced a man of the match display against United, before scoring the winner at Arsenal . Those displays showcased his determination and quality and that is why top clubs now see him as a big prospect.

Bournemouth obviously don't want to lose one of their main assets but several scouts have watched him, with United and Chelsea keeping abreast of the situation.

Scott’s character and ability to run with the ball and get forward has really impressed United, who want to strengthen their midfield this summer. They upgraded their forward line last year, spending big to do so, on Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.

Now they see midfield as their next step as they go through a clear plan to improve.

Thus, United are likely to look at two top midfield signings. United have had Elliot Anderson in their sights but the Nottingham Forest midfielder is a clear target for Manchester City who appear to be ahead.

They have also looked at Newcastle star Sandro Tonali, whose future on Tyneside is up in the air, and been linked with Real Madrid and France star Aurélien Tchouaméni. His future is likely to be tied to Manchester City midfielder Rodri, a target for the Spanish giants.

United have run the rule over Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton too, but they already have Kobbie Mainoo who is set to sign a new deal.

Veteran midfielder Casemiro is leaving in the summer, so United still need two midfielders to ensure they build on this season.

And Scott is catching the eye.

Sky has upgraded its Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle to now include HBO Max, Netflix, Disney+, discovery+ and Hayu, as well as 135 channels and full Sky coverage of the Premier League and EFL.
