Manchester United have received transfer recommendations totalling £130million from two players potentially heading out of the club this summer. Casemiro is definitely leaving Old Trafford and could be followed out of the door by Bruno Fernandes amid doubts over the club captain's future.

Both players have reportedly made it clear who United should bring to the club in their places. Even before Casemiro's impending departure was confirmed in January, it was widely known midfield was a priority area.

Newcastle star Sandro Tonali, Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson, Adam Wharton of Crystal Palace and Wolves ' Joao Gomes are all said to be on United's shortlist. But Casemiro has told United to go for another Newcastle ace, Bruno Guimaraes, 28, as his replacement, according to Spanish outlet AS .

Signing the Brazilian wouldn't be easy for several reasons. Guimaraes, who two years remaining on his contract, is hugely popular with Magpies fans and would cost around £70m.

However, after a disappointing season for Newcastle, which has left Eddie Howe's future looking uncertain, he may feel ready for a fresh challenge.

It remains to be seen if Fernandes will need to be replaced this summer or next. The Portuguese star was close to leaving for Saudi Arabia last year before opting to stay for another season.

While United are chasing Champions League football under interim boss Michael Carrick, it's been another season of upheaval at Old Trafford following the sacking of Ruben Amorim in January. There are also question marks about the future, with United weighing up whether to hire Carrick permanently or go for a more proven top-level manager.

Regardless on when Fernandes does end up leaving, he is believed to have his replacement in mind. The Sun recently reported West Ham midfielder and his Portugal team-mate Mateus Fernandes is the man he has put forward as his pick to take over as United number 10.

Bruno Fernandes was recently away on international duty with Portugal, where he shared a changing room with his namesake. Mateus, 21, replaced Bruno to make his debut in a 2-0 friendly win over the United States. Having joined the Hammers from Southampton for £40m last summer, reports suggest he could be worth closer to £60m now.

For now, Bruno will be focused on helping United back to winning ways following the home defeat to Leeds on Monday. Carrick's side visit out-of-form Chelsea on Saturday night.
