“I love players like him”: Zidane is thrilled with Bayern star Olise

Michael Olise scored the winning goal in France’s 1-0 victory over Belgium, once again demonstrating his outstanding form. After the match, the Bayern star received special praise from national team coach Zinédine Zidane.

The 24-year-old started the game on the bench and didn’t enter the match until the 77th minute. Just eleven minutes later, Olise decided the game in favor of the Équipe Tricolore with a strong individual play.

After the final whistle, Zidane spoke enthusiastically about his match-winner in an interview with TF1. The French national team coach made it clear just how highly he regards the FC Bayern forward.

“He has a feel for the game.”

“He’s a true talent. I love players like him. When he’s on the field, he wants to thrill the crowd. He has a feel for the game. I’m thrilled to be by his side and watch him play,” Zidane gushed about Olise.

The Bayern pro had just impressively demonstrated what Zidane meant by that. After winning the ball, Olise snatched it up in midfield, set off on a solo run, and didn’t let several opponents stop him on his way toward the Belgian goal.

In front of the goal, the Frenchman kept his cool and slotted the ball into the lower left corner for the decisive 1-0 lead. Zidane celebrated the goal exuberantly on the sideline.

Olise continues his stellar form

Olise is thus confirming his strong form from Munich with the national team as well. For both his club and the national team, the 24-year-old has nine goals and four assists this season in nine appearances.

This means Olise is directly involved in a goal every 50 minutes on average. Most recently, he shone in Bayern Munich’s 7-0 win over Union Berlin, contributing directly to five goals.

Now the attacking star is also generating excitement in France. And in Zidane, Olise clearly has a national team coach who thinks highly of him.
