Sky Sports icon and the unmistakable voice of Premier League Years, Georgie Thompson, is now married to an Olympic hero and living a life away from TV screens. For over 10 years, Thompson was a household name thanks to her tenure on Sky, until her departure in 2013.
Following her time with Sky, she worked on various shows and reported on several different sports. She also married Sir Ben Ainslie, Britain's most successful sailor.
Known as Lady Ainslie, the 48-year-old has also worked in the USA and currently hosts a popular podcast with her sports star husband. Sir Ben, 49, cemented his status as an Olympic legend by securing gold at four consecutive Games.

He also clinched a silver at his final Games in London 2012, making him the most successful sailor in the history of the Games. Despite Thompson once claiming she would never date a sportsman because of the potential heartache, she spoke about her relationship with The Mail in 2013.
Thompson admitted that initially, they were "in different places", but eventually "the stars aligned" and the couple clicked. They married in December 2014 and are now parents to two children, a daughter, Bellatrix, born in 2016, and a son, Fox, born in 2021.
Speaking to The I in January of this year, Sir Ben opened up on the differences between the couple. "My wife, Georgie, and I are very different personalities. Georgie is a real people person – extrovert, outgoing, very confident socially – whereas I'm a bit more shy and reserved.
"We met at a JP Morgan sports awards dinner. She was working at Sky at the time, and we ended up being sat next to one another and just got along brilliantly. We're actually business partners too as co-founders of ainslie+ainslie, a performance powders business, which began when Georgie saw how supplements were used by our sailing teams."

A strong sense of humour is critical to any long-term relationship, as Sir Ben revealed: "We have two children – Bellatrix, who is nine, and Fox, four. Last year, at Wimbledon, Georgie and I met Tom Cruise, who was a charming guy. We had a photo taken with him and Russell Coutts, the chief executive of SailGP.
"About a month later, we went to the in-laws for Sunday lunch, and I went over to the fridge, and there was a picture of Georgie and Tom Cruise up there. Myself and Russell had been cut out of it."
Their marriage is not only successful on a personal level but also professionally. Georgie and Sir Ben's podcast, Performance People, has been a huge hit. Since its inception, they have interviewed such names as Mercedes CEO and F1 icon Toto Wolff, marathon icon Paula Radcliffe, and Hollywood actor Stanley Tucci.
Thompson began her storied career as a production assistant for GMTV before landing the opportunity of a lifetime when she joined Sky Sports in January 2001. It was at Sky where she covered a multitude of major sporting events.

Sports fans may recall Georgie presenting US Open Tennis, F1, Speedway World Cup, the America's Cup and even the 2011 Wimbledon Championships. However, it's likely her stint on Sky Sports News, particularly hosting 'Afternoon Report' and serving as the voice of the Premier League years, will endure in people's minds.
During the 2012 season, Thompson co-hosted The F1 Show with pit-lane reporter Ted Kravitz and took charge of the Sky Pad segment during race weekends. However, in 2013, she made the bold decision to relocate to America.
Stateside, she landed a job with Fox Sports and became a panellist on Regis Philbin's sports talk show Crowd Goes Wild in 2013. The show ran for just over a year before she returned to the UK to take up presenting duties on Radio 5 Live's Fighting Talk.
Sky has upgraded its Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle to now include HBO Max, Netflix, Disney+, discovery+ and Hayu, as well as 135 channels and full Sky coverage of the Premier League and EFL.
