Gabriel Gudmundsson says he is delighted to be fit again after an early-season injury, as Leeds United host Crystal Palace.
The 27-year-old suffered a muscle problem in August during a summer friendly win over Liverpool, missing the end of pre-season and the opening weeks. He returned at Brighton, playing the full 90 in a demanding 1-1 draw.
He also started Monday’s 4-1 win over Newcastle United before coming off around the 70-minute mark in discomfort. Manager Daniel Farke said it was cramp after full-time and reiterated that on Friday.
“Obviously I didn’t have the chance to build up energy for the season, to get the training load in,” he said. “But I think I had a really good time with the rehab coaches.” The interview was published in Sunday’s match programme.
“We are also very lucky to have a very good rehab team behind us to make sure that we can come back quickly and in the best physical way.”
He is expected to make his third Premier League start of the season this afternoon.
