Carrick seemingly on verge of major injury boost after ‘unstoppable’ Man Utd star drops social media hint

Amad Diallo has seemingly hinted that he is on the verge of his long-awaited return to action for Manchester United.

The attacker shared a snap of himself at Old Trafford with a sand timer emoji, suggesting he’ll be back in the fold soon.

Amad has yet to feature this term after sustaining an ankle injury in pre-season, which has seen him miss all seven matches that the side has played in the opening month of 2026/2027.

It came after an impressive World Cup campaign from the ‘sensational’ 24-year-old, as he returned two goals in four appearances for the Ivory Coast on football’s biggest stage over the summer.

Yet, if he is to have a successful season with United over the coming months, he’ll have to improve on his numbers from 2025/2026.

Despite making 32 Premier League appearances, 27 of which were as a starter, Amad notched only two goals and four assists across the entirety of the term. At one stage, he went a whopping 16 games without contributing a goal or an assist.

Along with the winger, Michael Carrick is waiting for Matthijs de Ligt to be available for the first time since he took charge.

De Ligt last featured in November 2025 before sustaining a back injury that has kept him on the sidelines ever since.

Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo pulled out of international duty with England when the break began, while Benjamin Sesko was already ruled out after missing United’s clash with Fulham.
